The Academy Program is an Invitation Only program for players that have been identified by Centre Soccer’s Coaching Staff.

PROGRAM STRUCTURE

The program is open to players u8 to u12 boys and girls. Programs will run in the fall & spring seasons and are in addition to your regular programming. Training once a week, the # of weeks depends on the season. May include opportunities to travel to tournaments to represent Academy, at additional cost.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

The focus of the Academy is to develop players technically, physically and mentally for the next level using fun on the ball activities. The Academy is for players that show a passion for the game, enjoy training and are disciplined.

Training focus will be on: Technical Development, Physical Development, Character Development, and basic Tactical Principles.  The Academy will help players develop a professional approach to training while keeping the game FUN!

TRAINING SESSIONS

The academy’s once-a-week training sessions focus on ball mastery and small group play. Basic technical skills are the foundation for the development of young players and the focus of the Academy.

Academy training sessions are meant to compliment the player’s team activities. We do not play in a league as a team rather the players par­ticipate in once-per-week training sessions that are taught in a simple, fun and progressive manner. Players may be asked to represent the Academy at Tournaments.

PROGRAM LOGISTICS

• Players will be recommended by coaches and/or can express interest on the Centre Soccer web site. Expressing interest does not guarantee acceptance but that player will be evaluated.
• Program has been designed by Centre Soccer’s Technical Director, Lisa Cole. 
• Sessions will take place locally to minimize travel time for players and cost for parents.
• Sessions will be scheduled to minimize conflict with other practices, games and tournaments.
• Players not showing the required attitude towards training or commitment to personal development will not be invited back for the next season.
• Players will receive an academy uniform that must be worn at all training sessions.

PROGRAM REGISTRATION

Places are limited and will be awarded on a first come, first serve basis after invitations have gone out, with remaining players placed on a waiting list.
